The Oneida Daily Dispatch, LEGAL NOTICE Notice of Public Hearing on the Petition Submitted by William and Mary Batdorf Requesting Annexation by the Village of Chittenango of Territory in the Town of Sullivan NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING Town of Sullivan Town Board and Village of Chittenango Board of Trustees PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a petition signed by William and Mary Batdorf has been received by the Town Board for the Town of Sullivan. The petition requests that a certain parcel of land within the Town of Sullivan be annexed by the Village of Chittenango. The territory proposed for annexation is described and depicted on the documents attached as Exhibit A, which are excerpted from the Batdorf annexation petition. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a joint public hearing regarding the Batdorf annexation petition will occur on January 20, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., at the Town Hall for the Town Sullivan, located at 7507 Lakeport Road, Chittenango, Ne w York. The hearing will be jointly held by the Town Board for the Town of Sullivan and the Village Board of Trustees for the Village of Chittenango. Members of the aforementioned governing boards will meet at the time and place specified above to hear testimony regarding the Batdorf annexation petition and to receive any evidence or information relevant to the Batdorf annexation petition, including any objections on the following grounds: 1. that a person signing the petition is not qualified therefor, or 2. that the persons signing the petition do not constitute twenty percentum (20%) of the persons residing within such territory who are qualified to vote for town officers, or 3. that the persons signing the petition do not represent the owners of a majority in value of the property within such territory assessed upon the last preceding town assessment roll, or 4. that the petition does not otherwise substantially comply in form or content with the provisions in Section 703 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, or 5. that the proposed annexation is or is not in the over-all public interest (1) of the territory proposed to be annexed, or (2) of the local government or governments to which the territory is proposed to be annexed, or (3) of the remaining area of the local government or governments in which such territory is situated, or (4) of any school district, fire district or other district corporation, public benefit corporation, fire protection district, fire alarm district or town or county improvement district, situated wholly or partly in the territory proposed to be annexed; and PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that objections to the Batdorf annexation petition under any of the grounds listed in paragraphs 1-4 above must be presented in writing, in addition to any oral testimony given during the joint public hearing.
