The Oneida Daily Dispatch, LEGAL NOTICE 1st Publication On July 7, 8, and 11, 2014, the City of Oneida intends to apply a herbicide by means of a handheld pump-up sprayer to City sidewalks in the downtown district for the purpose of controlling unwanted weeds. The herbicide being used is GlyStar plus, Reg. No. 42750-61. The active ingredient is Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl) Glycine. This is a generic form of Roundup herbicide. The US Environmental Protection Agency toxicity category is “Caution”, which is the lowest category, meaning slightly - to relatively non-toxic. The application will take place on the above dates between 4:00 am and 7:00 am while the sidewalks are not in use. If weather does not permit, the alternate dates of application would be July 14, 15, and 18, 2014. A database of the locations and streets are on file at the Office of the City Engineer, 109 N. Main Street, Oneida, NY 13421 and are available for viewing during normal business hours, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. Inquiries concerning symptoms of pesticide poisoning should be directed to the Regional Poison Control Center, telephone number 1-800-476-4766, the Regional Poison Control Center, telephone number 1-800-476-4766, or the National Pesticide Telecommunications Network at telephone number 1-800-858-7378. City of Oneida’s Certified Pesticide Applicator, Robert Haldenwang, will answer specific questions regarding the proposed pesticide application, to obtain a copy of the pesticide label, or a list of streets that fall in the treatment area, can be contacted during normal business hours, 8:00 AM to 3:00PM at telephone number 315-363-1690, alternate, 315-363-7222 Monday thru Friday.
